Yoga and Mindful Men
Absolute Beginner Series
This series is for brand-new beginners, or those wishing to gain a deeper understanding of the foundation and alignment of Yoga poses. Start with a strong foundation and build a healthy practice over six weeks.
This is a 6 class series, there are no make-ups or refunds for missed classes.
Pre-Natal Classes
Kate Layman is a professional nurse midwife and certified Pre-Natal Yoga instructor dedicated to helping women enjoy and feel their very best throughout each stage of pregnancy. She believes yoga can help women cope successfully with the transitions of labor and delivery. This class will include specific breathing exercises and guided imagery to aid participants with relaxation and stress management, yoga poses specific for bringing energy to the pelvic floor, minimizing back and leg discomfort and enhancing deep relaxation for labor. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss any pregnancy issues with Kate and review any topics related to birthing, pregnancy ect. We do request each participant brings in a note from their OB providing clearance to participate in yoga. Full 6 weeks is $60.00 or $15.00 per session. Fridays from 7-8:30pm.
You will need to bring the following: Blanket, pillow, yoga block/yoga strap and yoga mat. Yoga Mats are available at the studio for purchase.
Yoga Basics Series
Students will learn the basic language and theory of yoga, and learn what yoga has to offer, both physically and on a deeper level. What’s great about these classes is that yoga postures are described in a way that new students can understand. And by that we mean you’ll understand how to align your body, and also how to conceive of the posture in your mind and assimilate it into your whole self. Students will also learn ways in which yoga can be incorporated into your own daily routine, to bring more ease, relaxation and peace to your life. This is a valuable introduction to yoga, and could be your key to bringing a sustainable yoga practice into your life.
